In the countryside of 1985, Yang Zhiguo is eager to take a new wife. At Chen Xiuyue's instigation, he uses a desperate ploy to force his daughter, Yang Yun, to accept an arranged marriage to Li Lei from Longwan Village. The man Yang Yun loves has already married someone else, leaving her no choice but to resign herself to the wedding.
