Dragon Steed Ranking tells the story of three medical students who become sworn brothers and wake up one day transported to the Three Kingdoms period as Liu Bei, Guan Yu, and Zhang Fei. Guan Yu has to run dozens of miles to build up his strength before he can behead Hua Xiong. Zhang Fei insists on completing a warm-up routine before going into battle. Liu Bei, meanwhile, casually sells out his two sworn brothers the moment he opens his mouth. The three behave in utterly ridiculous ways without realizing it, leaving the arrogant warlords bewildered and unable to figure them out. The warlords go from constantly guarding against them to competing to win them over. In the end, a great campaign to eliminate Dong Zhuo turns into these three brothers' own laid-back farming life.
