Yellow Earth Grows Flowers, Mud Sculpture of Three Shanxi
Beijing drifter youth Qiao Siyuan was laid off and returned home, forced to take over his ancestral mud-sculpting craft. To win back the 'Mud King' title and the million-dollar prize, he and his arch-rival's successor Shen Jingci go from being at loggerheads to cooperating hand in hand. Qiao Siyuan promotes mud sculpting using trendy methods like live streaming and blind boxes, but 'flips over' due to being too eager for quick success; Shen Jingci steadfastly upholds tradition, and the two gradually develop feelings for each other amidst collisions. In the end, they win the competition with a group of mud sculptures telling the story of their two families' grudges and reconciliation, and unexpectedly become viral sensations thanks to a 'flipped' ghost-animal video, making the intangible cultural heritage craft burst with new life.
