Chen Ergou, a corpse salvager on the Yellow River beaches, exhausted his seven years of savings to rescue a white python carrying python eggs, and as a result was suppressed by his peers and cut off from his livelihood. On a rainy night, the white python sent Xiuer, who had been forced into an arranged marriage and threw herself into the river, and the two joined forces to fight against the evil forces of the Zhao family. The Yellow River water source was monopolized by villains, and a plague crisis swept through the small town. Ergou and Xiuer united the neighborhood and townspeople, collected criminal evidence, and fought against Master Diao San, who monopolized the water source. After going through hardships, the villains were brought to justice, and the two protected the local people and also had a stable little home of their own.
