Zero-Yuan Noodle Shop
On an old street in Nandu City, at four in the morning, the sign of a noodle shop lights up: Noodles for 0 yuan. A free bowl of noodles is like a pebble thrown into a lake. Half the street erupts, and soon the entire city is buzzing. Some say he's evading taxes, others accuse him of undercutting fellow businesses, some call him falsely compassionate, and others say he's just chasing fame. Customers line up from the entrance around two street corners, yet the owner keeps his head down, cooking noodles and brushing aside every question with a simple, "Eat them while they're hot." A limit of 300 bowls, mysterious regular customers, an inspection by the city's culture and tourism department, and rumors spreading everywhere. One bowl of noodles reveals all the different sides of human nature, as well as the scales of judgment in everyone's heart.
