Reborn back in 1982, Xie Dongyan resolves to make up for his past life's debts and fiercely protect his wronged wife, Xu Jiahui. He takes the initiative to separate from his biased family and leave the ancestral home, using his future knowledge to make a living by foraging the sea—prying sea urchins, catching razor clams, and netting large yellow croakers. Through fish traps and seafaring, he swiftly builds wealth. He stands up to the corrupt seafood buyer Wang Datou, thwarts malicious schemes, takes Jiahui to the doctor to nourish her health, buys her new clothes, and firmly resists the unreasonable demands of her maternal family. Along the way, he uncovers abalone and sea cucumbers on the deserted Ghost Sorrow Island, and seizes the opportunity during a red tide to resell hairtail fish, earning a massive fortune.
