1983: After the Heavy Snow Seals the Mountain, Wild Boars Attack
In his previous life, hunter Lin Yuan spent three years of his own money building a protective fence to keep wild animals away from his village. Yet, on a snowy night, the villagers forced his wife and daughter into a herd of wild boars, leaving his entire family dead. Reborn on the day in 1983 when the villagers demanded that he tear down the fence, he decisively cuts ties with the entire village. He sells his fishery and barbed wire to stockpile supplies, then moves into a stone fortress halfway up the mountain. When the blizzard arrives, the unprotected village is attacked by wild boars, and Lin Yuan turns away every villager who comes begging for help. He also uncovers a developer's scheme to deceive the villagers into removing the fence so they can illegally mine coal and destroy ancestral graves. Secretly gathering evidence, he joins forces with his former military comrades to bring the criminals to justice and successfully secures a contract for the mountain behind the village. This time, he will no longer be a foolishly kind man.
