In 1998, Zhou Ye, a young man from the countryside, heads south to find work with just 300 yuan in travel money. On the train, he spends every last penny helping the seriously ill daughter of engineer Shen Jingshan and receives an old wrench in return. After arriving in the city to work as an auto repair apprentice, he is framed by a wealthy young man and ostracized throughout the city, until Master Lu takes him in and teaches him the trade. Over the next ten years, Zhou Ye stays true to his principle of repairing cars honestly and conscientiously. The Gao family repeatedly sabotages him, and he is even falsely blamed for an accident involving counterfeit parts. Relying on his solid technical skills and the help of those around him, he uncovers the truth and brings the wrongdoers to justice. After ten years of twists of fate, Zhou Ye reunites with Shen Jingshan. In the end, he establishes Dexin Auto Repair, passes on his skills, stays true to his principles, and continues spreading kindness.
