Sun Wukong, the Great Sage Equal to Heaven, has grown disillusioned with the Heavenly Court after becoming caught up in its internal conflicts. Persuaded by the Third Prince Nezha, he descends to the mortal world to avoid trouble. The two register a company called Cover You in Shanhe City, taking on all kinds of problems that others cannot handle—from persuading a top university entrance exam champion to abandon his involvement with street gangs, to cleverly catching a perverted stalker, going undercover at a school to fight bullying, and helping a blind woman recover her guide dog's soul. They take on one unusual job after another, battling monsters along the way. After Erlang Shen Yang Jian joins them disguised as a lawyer, the trio gradually become entangled in a survival crisis involving the hidden supernatural marketplace of the human world. They uncover a conspiracy by the Heavenly Court's Star Lord Pojun, who intends to use a celestial formation under the pretext of eliminating hidden threats to completely purge non-human beings from the mortal world. In the end, Sun Wukong uses the principle that all living beings have the right to choose how they live to enlighten Pojun and avert a catastrophe threatening both the human and demon realms.
