On Zhang Dashan's 55th birthday, his son Zhang Xiaohu is lured by Uncle Fo with luxury cars, the promise of becoming his godson, and short-term high-return investments. Xiaohu sells his marital home and persuades his friends to invest five million yuan. He even pressures his father to raise a toast to Uncle Fo and disown his own flesh-and-blood father. In reality, Uncle Fo is a swindler who uses the pretense of taking on godsons to set up elaborate scams and amass wealth. Zhang Dashan joins forces with Chen Feng and other former godsons to gather evidence and expose Uncle Fo's scheme involving eighteen supposed heirs. In the end, Uncle Fo is brought to justice, Zhang Xiaohu comes to his senses, and Liu Zhiqiang and Peng Liang each face the consequences of their actions and return to an honest, down-to-earth life.
