Two noodle shops in an auto parts market get into a price war. Luo Zhicheng launches double-beef noodles for just 12.9 yuan, with unlimited free noodle refills, using low prices and monthly meal cards to attract customers in droves. He is determined to drive out Old Chen, who insists on quality ingredients and charges 22 yuan per bowl. But the sudden surge in customers sends costs spiraling out of control. Desperate, Luo Zhicheng takes the risk of using spoiled frozen meat and artificial flavorings to fulfill a large factory order for late-night meals, triggering mass food poisoning among the workers and ultimately landing him in prison. Old Chen stays true to his principles, serving a limited 260 bowls a day with generous, accurately weighed portions of meat, and preserves his little shop's hard-earned reputation.
