Seventy-one-year-old Xu Fu, a lame old man, spends all the money he has saved for food and medicine to save a piece of talking green jade. Little does he know that a sleeping Azure Dragon is hidden inside it, and that the dragon owes him a life-saving debt dating back forty-two years. When the Azure Dragon finally appears, Xu Fu discovers an old waterway map left behind by his father, uncovering a conspiracy involving the Blackstone Mountain mine, blocked waterways, stolen maps, and the excavation of the mountain. Facing greedy merchants, an approaching torrential storm, and a crisis threatening the entire village, the old man and the dragon join forces to uncover the truth, clear the waterways, restore the flow of water, and protect their home. After many long years, they also rediscover the family bonds and sense of belonging they once lost.
