In the 1960s, My Space Connects to the Modern Era
In 1960, in Yangliu Village, farmer Chen Jianguo is pressured by the village bully, Li Ergou, to repay his debt. When he touches an ancestral bronze mirror, he travels through time to 2025. Moving back and forth between the two eras, he brings modern supplies home to support his family. After his wife is humiliated, Chen Jianguo finally fights back, making an enemy of the bully. Using the bronze mirror, he trades goods between the two eras and learns modern cooking skills. He moves his entire family to the county town and opens a steamed bun shop. With his secret filling recipe and innovative business methods, the shop flourishes. He repeatedly foils the schemes of Li Ergou and Zhao Pangzi. With Master Ma's help, the villains are handed over to the commune for punishment. After achieving success, Chen returns to his village to donate money for a school and seals away the bronze mirror. Having learned the importance of self-reliance, he and his family enjoy a happy ending.
