In the 1970s, Lin Yue of Jingshan Village takes her children into the mountains to gather wild vegetables. On their way home, they encounter a tiny child who is actually a magical herb transformed into human form. Kindhearted Lin Yue brings the child down the mountain to look for her biological parents and names her Lin Xiaobao. From the moment Xiaobao joins the Lin family, everyone cherishes her, and she enjoys a carefree childhood. Xiaobao also seems to bring good fortune wherever she goes: she catches a huge fish in the river, finds gold ingots on the back mountain, and even summons pheasants. She leads the whole family in gathering wild vegetables and becomes the little lucky star everyone holds dear.
