In the 1980s, Xu Lichuan, a maintenance mechanic at the county equipment factory, uses his family's hard-earned savings to buy an old crane that is about to be scrapped. Rather than give up on it, he carefully restores it with his exceptional technical skills. Soon, the factory receives an urgent export order, but the new equipment cannot fit into the old workshop, making the old crane the only viable option. Working alongside veteran technician Zhou Wanfu, Xu Lichuan leads his apprentices in completing the task. By combining traditional experience with new methods, they pass down their technical skills and sense of responsibility from one generation to the next.
