In the 1980s, in Beiling Village, Lin Jianguo is constantly exploited by his family, so he decides to split from the household and live independently. Relying on the skills he has honed in the mountains, he opens up markets through hunting and gathering medicinal herbs. He then develops cultivation, builds greenhouses, and eventually contracts the entire mountain forest. Despite repeated interference from his own relatives, he remains true to himself. Together, the villagers work diligently, gradually overcome their hardships, and forge a path to prosperity.
