Wonton stall owner Zhao Jianguo insists on making wontons on the spot with fresh shrimp and meat. But when he raises the price by one yuan, customers boycott him en masse, losing his business to a noodle stall serving cheap pre-made meals. Facing an empty stall and his wife's pleading, he would rather throw out unsold fillings than compromise on quality. Eventually, he moves his stall to a university gate, winning over new customers who truly appreciate good food with his incredibly delicious wontons. Meanwhile, the noodle stall gets shut down by inspectors after customers get sick from spoiled ingredients. Only then do the old customers who once complained about the price realize the honest conscience behind Zhao Jianguo's one extra yuan—yet by the time they regret it, he has long moved on.
