The 1970s, A Family Riding the Wind and Breaking Through the Waves - Season 1
Zhou Wenshan accidentally travels through time and returns to the resource-scarce 1970s, only to have his engagement broken off right at the start. Just then, a capitalist family is sent to the village for reeducation, and he falls for their daughter, Chen Wan, at first sight. Chen Wan's family has been framed and sent to Zhoujia Village, where life is extremely difficult. They never get enough to eat and must perform exhausting farm labor every day. During one stint of fieldwork, Chen Wan suddenly suffers from low blood sugar and collapses in the fields. At this critical moment, Zhou Wenshan arrives in time and saves the weakened Chen Wan with a piece of candy. The next day, Zhou Wenshan deliberately brings Chen Wan an egg as well. Chen Wan looks up at him and softly asks, 'Do you like me?' Zhou Wenshan answers frankly, 'Yes.'
