In a shared apartment, Lin Wan had long cooked for her roommates charging only the cost of groceries. When new roommate Zhou Ke moved in, she brought her boyfriend's "free cooking" into play, winning everyone over with sweet words and forcing Lin Wan to settle the accounts and move out on her own. Relying on her excellent cooking skills, Lin Wan started a home-style food stall, and business flourished day by day. Seeing her success, Zhou Ke copied her recipes and even usurped her reputation for profit. After several dignified confrontations, Lin Wan defended her reputation and principles, securing a firm foothold. Her former roommates came to apologize and reconcile, but she drew a clear line, owing them nothing.
