At nineteen, Feng Zhili passed the provincial examinations, only to be betrayed by his father-in-law, who cast him aside like a spent tool. Poisoned, his meridians shattered, and slashed repeatedly with blades, he was thrown into a dry well. On the brink of death, he is possessed by the soul of the Supreme Sage of the Nine Heavens, reshaping his mortal vessel and awakening immense Noble Qi. He slays the Tree Demon Matron, subdues Nie Xiaoqian and Yan Chixia, crushes the Old Demon of Black Mountain, and reorders the Underworld. Returning home in triumph, he purges the entire Wang clan, obliterates hypocritical orthodox sects along with a centipede demon monk, storms the imperial throne room, and ultimately overturns the Heavenly Court itself—ruling the Three Realms with Confucian martial might as the Supreme Darkened Master.
