Mint as a Blade
Xu Liunian is tired of the relentless 996 work culture in the city. He takes his savings and returns to his hometown, hoping to live a peaceful life tending to the flowers and plants in his little courtyard. Unexpectedly, his domineering neighbor, Du Zhenhai, builds a pigsty right against his courtyard wall, filling the air with a constant stench. The entire village waits to see him get bullied. Everyone assumes he will either argue and suffer humiliation or silently endure the foul smell. But he chooses neither. Instead, he fills his courtyard with mint. The mint grows wildly, spreading its crisp, refreshing fragrance over the wall. Mint becomes his blade. Without arguments or angry insults, a single breath of fresh fragrance becomes his quiet yet powerful act of retaliation.
