A Hundred Tables of Wedding Banquet, I Serve the Whole Village a Bowl of Plain Congee
The Tang family holds a grand wedding banquet with one hundred and twenty tables of feast. The guests have given large amounts of gift money, and everyone is waiting for the banquet to start and eat meat. Who would have expected that as soon as the auspicious hour arrives, the only thing served is a bowl of piping hot plain congee, with not a speck of meat in sight across the entire table. On the spot, the guests explode in anger, some smashing bowls and scolding furiously, shouting that the Tang family is money-grubbing and stingy, collecting hundreds of thousands in gift money yet begrudging even a shred of minced meat. They demand refunds of their gift money one after another, and even want to record videos and post them online for the whole county to watch the Tang family make a fool of themselves. Everyone surrounds the main table to denounce the groom Tang Fugui. Everyone thinks the Tang family are misers greedy for gift money, but no one knows that behind this wedding banquet serving only plain congee lies an unspeakable hidden story.
