She arranged marriages and raised families for all four sons, helped one son become a scholar, and looked after her grandchildren. Yet, when she grew old, everyone treated her as a burden, believing that an old person who refused to die was nothing but a nuisance and blaming her for bringing misfortune upon the family. Eventually, they locked her away in a dilapidated house. After traveling through time and sorting out her new circumstances, the newly arrived Granny Chen immediately decides to let go of her responsibilities.
