At a class reunion, Sun Dawei refuses to drink because he has taken cephalosporin antibiotics and is in a hurry to pick up his daughter. Zhao Peng feels humiliated and orders Pangzi to pin down Sun Dawei's arms while Houzi records the scene and forces his head down, personally pouring liquor into his mouth. A few hours later, Sun Dawei dies. Zhao Peng immediately deletes the video, conspires with the others to fabricate their stories, and shifts the blame onto Chen Mo, who had repeatedly tried to stop the drinking, called emergency services, and taken Sun Dawei to the hospital. Armed with only a thirteen-second video fragment, the autopsy report, restraint injuries, voiceprint analysis, and a one-hundred-and-eleven-second time discrepancy, Chen Mo reconstructs the truth. In the end, Zhao Peng is sentenced to seven years in prison, Pangzi to two years, and Houzi to one year and six months. Months later, everyone reunites in the private dining room. There is no alcohol on the table, only tea—and whether to raise a cup is entirely up to each person.

Zhao Peng sente-se humilhado e ordena a Pangzi que lhe imobilize os dois braços, enquanto Houzi filma a cena e lhe segura a cabeça. O próprio Zhao Peng despeja à força aguardente chinesa na sua boca. Algumas horas depois, Sun Dawei morre.
