On the first anniversary of her mother's death, Lin Jing wanted to return to her hometown to visit the grave, but was brutally stopped by her husband Wang Qiang on the grounds that "his sister was pregnant and feared bad luck," and he even threw away the relics left by her mother. Heartbroken and angry, Lin Jing returned to her hometown to pay homage, only to learn a cruel truth from her father: a year ago, when her mother was critically ill in the ICU, Wang Qiang secretly hung up and blocked the hospital's emergency calls to save money and keep her at home as a free housekeeper, causing her to miss seeing her mother one last time. Completely disillusioned, Lin Jing launched a fierce fightback, uncovered evidence of Wang Qiang secretly transferring marital assets, and cleverly used hidden surveillance to have him detained for attempted domestic violence.
