A Northeast Eighties Mountain Feeds a Family
Waking up from a sleep, Italian mafia godfather Lu Qi arrived at a northeast mountain village in 1980, becoming a poor young man with a completely bare home. His father passed away, his mother and younger sister lived under someone else's roof, faced relatives' harassment, and even his engagement to Zhao Lingling was nearly torn apart. Relying on wilderness survival skills, Lu Qi stepped into the snow-and-ice-covered deep mountains, searched for mountain goods, helped neighboring villagers, and earned his first pot of gold. Seizing the opportunities of the era, from running a restaurant to founding a forest farm and a factory, he carved out a world of his own. The poor young man once looked down upon by everyone finally enabled his mother to live stably, his sister to study with peace of mind, and fulfilled his promise to Zhao Lingling.
