There are two great nuisances in the Underworld: one is a flower, and the other is a book. After the Book of Life and Death, which governs the fate and lifespan of all things in the world, gains sentience, it takes advantage of its innate privileges to gossip about everyone instead of doing its job. After a thousand years, a red spider lily transforms into human form. Seeing her promising potential, the King of Hell makes an exception and appoints her as Meng Po's assistant. At first, she does her job well, but as time passes, she grows increasingly bored. Then, one day, these two troublemakers cross paths. Finding kindred spirits in each other, they become inseparable: one digs up gossip while the other listens to stories. Before long, they become the two biggest nuisances in the Underworld, leaving not even a passing dog's secrets untouched. Exasperated, the King of Hell decides to send them both to the mortal world to be reformed.

Há dois grandes flagelos no mundo inferior: o primeiro é uma flor, e o segundo, um livro. Depois de o Livro da Vida e da Morte, que governa os assuntos de todos os seres do mundo, ganhar consciência, aproveita os seus privilégios inatos para passar os dias a coscuvilhar em vez de cumprir as suas funções. Após mil anos, uma flor de lírio-aranha-vermelho transforma-se numa pessoa. O Rei do Inferno reconhece o seu talento e abre uma exceção para a nomear assistente de Meng Po. No início, ela desempenha bem as suas funções, mas, com o passar do tempo, fica cada vez mais aborrecida. Até que, um dia, os dois desordeiros se cruzam.
