On the day Lin Zhao was rejected and had his betrothal broken, the Shen family trampled on his dignity with wedding gifts, and Third Master Du smashed silver at his feet. Instead of picking up the silver, he picked up the bag of crude sugar on the ground. Lighting the fire, cleaning the pot, and boiling sugar: the first pot was ruined, but the second pot succeeded. Severed firewood, cut-off herbs, fake sugar, poisoned sugar, and an arson fire—the Du family pressed in step by step, but he never backed down with a single pot. Third Master Du once sneered that in Qinghe County, sugar wasn't something just anyone could sell. Later, the whole street lined up waiting for his sugar to leave the pot. Until the day he held a new pot of sugar and knocked on the gates of the Du family. No one knew what he had boiled into that pot of sugar.
