During the Revolutionary War, while a communications squad of our army was relocating, the mule carrying the radio was gravely injured and unable to march on. The soldiers chose to shoulder the heavy radio of tens of pounds and push forward on foot rather than disturb the local villagers along the way. Deeply moved by this sight, local gentleman Li Mao voluntarily brought out his own donkey to take the injured mule's place. Many years later, a former young soldier from that squad returned to the old place to seek out the villagers who had helped them back then. Finding Li Mao's daughter, Zaohua, he continued this touching tale of bond between the army and the people.
