To save his critically ill younger sister, the young man Shi Yan takes a job at the Shanhai Carving Pavilion repairing ancient beast spirit stone statues. The pavilion hides a century-old secret: with every statue restored, his own body gradually petrifies. The mysterious pavilion master Qing Yao and antique shop owner Wang Shitou appear one after another, uncovering an old spirit-suppression case from the Republic era. Behind the scenes, the traitor Lao Zao has schemed for a century to seize the array. Armed with his ancestral carving knife, Shi Yan fights alongside his allies, using the art of restoration to defuse the catastrophe of Shanhai.
