The Golden Goblet Shines on Fickle Affection
For a 36-table celebration marking a baby's first month, Aunt Shen Huizhen refuses to pay the 84,000 yuan upfront cost, using family ties to haggle over the price and insisting on settling the bill after the banquet begins. Shen Zhiheng refuses to back down. Seafood must be paid for in cash, labor costs must be settled immediately, and the kitchen will remain closed until the money arrives. While relatives gather around the banquet tent, waiting to laugh at him, each untouched, cooling table becomes an account of the price of family ties. Where golden goblets overflow, human affection proves shallow. With every receipt, he makes the cost of pride and family relationships crystal clear.
