In Republican-era Linjiang City, Shen Yuetang, the leading Dan actress of the Chunhe Troupe, faces coercive pressure from Luo Wancheng, owner of the Huaxing Grand Theatre. With the troupe weighed down by old debts and her rival Liu Yunxu snatching their repertoires, Shen Yuetang relies on her superb singing and sharp business acumen to navigate the crisis, carving out a new path through radio broadcasts and teahouses. She uncovers that "Zhaoyuetai" was a tampered, discarded draft, unravels long-buried secrets of her master's heritage, lets go of the empty fame of the celebrated performers' guild, and stays true to the heart of traditional opera. In the end, reconciling with Liu Yunxu, she premieres the new opera "Fengguitai" at the soon-to-be-demolished Yongqing Pavilion, preserving the soul of the Chunhe Troupe and blazing a brand-new trail for them all.
