Abandoned in Midlife, I Make a Comeback Against the Odds
At 42, Liu Qiaozhen has spent twenty years as a full-time housewife, devotedly caring for her husband, Wang Jianjun, and their son, Wang Jinzhu. She even takes in her nine-month-pregnant daughter-in-law, Chuntao, and her parents, allowing them to live under the same roof. Qiaozhen handles every household chore alone and spends all her dowry money supporting the family. Yet everyone treats her like a free housekeeper. When Qiaozhen is diagnosed with suspected lung cancer and asks for just a few hundred yuan to buy medicine, her son and daughter-in-law dismiss her illness as terminal and consider the money wasted. Instead, they pressure her to transfer the house into her grandson's name. Seeing this, Wang Jianjun takes out a divorce agreement and directly demands that she leave the family home.
