Abundant Harvest Year After Year: A 1970s Uncle's Story of Raising a Child
On a snowy day in the 1970s, three-and-a-half-year-old Zhao Suisui is abandoned at the village entrance by her own mother, Lu Mei, who considers her nothing but a financial burden. Lu Zheng, her feared and notorious uncle, takes her back to his dilapidated thatched hut, and the two depend on each other to survive. Suisui is born with the luck of a little blessing star: rabbits run straight to their door, wild bees show them the way, and she casually digs up wild ginseng. Taking her into the mountains time and again to hunt for wild game and gather mountain treasures, Lu Zheng transforms their lives from utter poverty to remarkable wealth. When her biological mother and sister-in-law follow them out of envy and come demanding money, Lu Zheng turns them away one by one. Determined to find life-saving medicinal herbs deep in the mountains to restore frail Suisui's health, he vows to brave the wilderness. With uncle and niece united, their good days are only just beginning.
