After Fixing the Sewage Pipes, the Torrential Rain Came
Yi Xiaochuan spends all his personal savings to build a tap-water and sewage pipeline network for the entire village. Auntie Sun, a selfish and overbearing villager, obstructs construction and demands compensation, even bringing in heavy machinery to carry out unauthorized work despite the geological risks. When torrential rain strikes, the ground in front of the Sun family’s home collapses, destroying their new house and all the construction equipment. Shen Dingcheng, chairman of a building materials group, witnesses how the pipeline network helps protect the village against flooding and voluntarily provides financial assistance. Later, businessman Zhao Jinbiao tries to profit through an oppressive contract, but Yi Xiaochuan exposes his scheme on the spot. Yi then leads the villagers in establishing an agricultural cooperative and cultivating premium crystal snow peaches suited to the local conditions. Several years later, the harvest is abundant, the villagers grow wealthy through collective profit-sharing, and the entire village takes on a completely new look.
