After Leading the Villagers to Grow Medicinal Herbs, the Neighboring Village Got Anxious
Bai Zhi, a master's degree graduate who returns to her hometown, gives up her stable life in the city and brings advanced equipment back to Qinghe Village, a poor and remote mountain village. There, she leads the villagers in establishing an ecological agriculture cooperative. Using modern physics and biology techniques, she firmly upholds strict standards for pollution-free products and guides medicinal herb farmers such as Tie Zhu in expanding the traditional Chinese medicinal herb industry against all odds. Facing transportation restrictions imposed by unscrupulous local herb dealer Diao Laosan, a devastating scheme involving poisonous seeds orchestrated by the multinational giant Shennong Biotech, and challenges to international standards from European pharmaceutical companies, Bai Zhi turns the tables on her adversaries. In front of millions of media cameras, she uses rigorous science to prove her innocence, ultimately reclaiming the power to set market prices for Chinese medicinal herbs and a voice in the international arena, allowing the fragrance of ancient medicinal herbs to benefit thousands of acres of land.
