During a camping trip, Su Nianqing accidentally runs into Huo Jiuyuan being pursued by killers and poses as his lover to help him escape, mistaking him for the enemy who caused her father's death. Huo Jiuyuan sets up an engagement and forces her to marry him using family elders as leverage, but she flees to Qingshi Town at the first chance. Huo Jiuyuan follows her to the small town, gradually walking into her life through gentle care. Su Nianqing's admirer Fang Zixuan colludes with Huo Jiuyuan's cousin to harm him, but Su Nianqing braves the pouring rain to save Huo Jiuyuan. Later investigations reveal her father's death was actually caused by Huo's eldest uncle. With the misunderstanding resolved, the two devote themselves to each other and live peacefully together.
