Chen Yang partnered with his childhood friend Li Hao to open a milk tea shop: Chen Yang ran operations while Li Hao provided capital, agreeing to split profits fifty-fifty. Once profitable, Li Hao broke his promise and slashed Chen Yang's dividend. Indignant, Chen Yang quit to raise his own funds and start over. Envious of his move, Li Hao repeatedly undermined Chen Yang's new store and spread rumors to tarnish his reputation. Staying true to quality, Chen Yang won viral acclaim and far outperformed Li Hao's shop. Li Hao subsequently fell victim to an investment scam and had his store shut down for using substandard ingredients. Desperate, Li Hao attempted to buy out Chen Yang's space at an inflated price to coerce a partnership, only for Chen Yang to lease Li Hao's old storefront for pennies on the dollar. In the end, Chen Yang achieved triumph in both career and love, while Li Hao was deserted by everyone and utterly defeated.
