After the Phoenix Crown Was Broken, I Abandon the Marquis's Household and Return to Mountains and Seas
After my husband, Wei Heng, took a concubine, he sawed the imperial nine-tailed phoenix crown in half in the name of absolute fairness, giving one half to me and the other to his equal-ranking wife. After ten years of silent endurance, I finally reached my breaking point. Wearing the bloodstained half-crown, I entered the palace to face the Emperor and exposed my husband's hypocrisy before everyone. Enraged, the Emperor stripped him of his noble title, and I took my dowry and divorced him. Three years later, he came crawling back, begging for an old ginseng root to save his concubine. Right in front of him, I split the precious ginseng in two: one half to save a life, the other to feed a dog.
