After the Wedding Banquet Ends, Someone Saves a Seat for Me
For five years, Shen Zhiwei used a false identity and her own money to accompany Fu Boyan as he rose from an $800 rental apartment to the pinnacle of power in the capital. On their wedding day, all eight tables of guests were his people, while she had invited only one friend. Before the banquet had even ended, he forced her to admit her mistake in front of everyone, holding tightly to the bamboo brush pen left behind by her father. She looked up and asked, "Do you want me to say it, or do you want them to believe you?" The door opened, and Qin Zhao walked in—the man whose marriage proposal she had rejected five years ago. She walked out of the hotel in her wedding dress, unaware that a place at the inner table of the Qin family residence had been set for her ever since the day she left, with a bowl and chopsticks waiting untouched for five years.
