Martial masters tread upon bones; alchemists draw life from qi. In this realm of Great Xia, who is worthy to sit enthroned in the imperial court? Bounty hunters trade their lives for gold, while demonic beasts howl across the wilderness. In this chaotic jianghu, who can master the rise and fall? High above, the imperial family secretly lays a trap to diminish the vassal states, stealing the true legitimate heir of the Gu family and replacing him with a fake young master, casting the infant into a bloody, fiery hell to watch the pawns slaughter one another. Seventeen years later, a youth crawls out from the mountain of corpses. Calling himself Gu Shiyi, dressed in tattered rags and wielding a blade with his six fingers, he cuts down the Song clan to forge a path, uses the Lu family to enter the game, and fights his way back from the jianghu straight to the imperial court. If Heaven decrees a fate, I shall rewrite it; if the imperial throne lays a chess piece, I shall overturn the board!
