Barren Village, God of Wealth Fate
During a severe drought and famine, young Gu Hesheng accidentally dug up a clay statue of the God of Wealth while gathering wild vegetables on the mountain. Even though crossing rivers, walking on vine bridges, and treading cloud paths were fraught with danger, he still kept his promise to send the God of Wealth back to his place on East Mountain, which in return brought him seven magical seeds that grew into seven-color treasure gourds. Faced with the temptation of the treasure gourd's magical powers, the young man always adhered to his original intention to relieve emergencies and help the needy; the greedy landlord tried every means to snatch the treasure, but ultimately ended up with nothing. The story validates the principle of 'can relieve emergencies, but cannot nourish greed', conveying the positive power of being kind and content.
