Old Lin Doesn't Take These Four Cents in Vain
Nanqiao Village kicks out Lin Weidong, who has served as an agent for eleven years, thinking that saving four cents will allow them to earn more. But when the trucks arrive, nobody knows how to sort the goods, and the tomatoes grow soft crate by crate. Gao Youfu, who originally led the crowd to drive him away, panics, while Lin Weidong has already started from scratch on the Northern Slope. When the collection trucks drive past Nanqiao empty and head straight for the Northern Slope, everyone is stunned—what on earth did those four cents actually buy?
