Photographer Xu Feng enters an old mansion in a mountain village in search of scenery, only to be haunted by bizarre occurrences ever since. It isn't until he meets Susu, a girl tormented by the same "curse", that the two go from mutual suspicion to investigating together. Eerie nursery rhymes sound inexplicably in their ears, the midnight sound of sharpening knives follows them like a shadow, and everything points to the chilling legend of Hua Niangzi in the old mansion. When human fear is magnified into a living nightmare, Xu Feng has no choice but to step into that forbidden place once again to uncover the truth.
