The girl Er Ya is bitten and turns into a zombie, but driven by her unwavering attachment to her mother, she makes her way home. Her tough-talking but soft-hearted mother continues to care for her as a 'sick child.' The villagers initially fear Er Ya and want to drive her away, but when they discover that ordinary zombies are afraid of her, they gradually come to rely on her to protect their village and survive. Later, because of the special antibodies in her body, Er Ya is taken to a base, and mother and daughter become involved in a crucial mission to save infected people and human survivors. Set in a post-apocalyptic world overrun by zombies, the story centers on a mother's love, mutual aid within a rural community, and the instinctive family bonds that endure even after someone becomes a monster.
