Mythical Old Tales, The Origin of Wukong's Fate
Five hundred years ago, the Great Sage had actually already died. The havoc in Heaven was a play staged by the Celestial Court, and the journey to the Western Heaven to obtain the scriptures was a shocking conspiracy. That Golden-Banded Staff, which once shook the Four Seas, was nothing more than a white bone that had drifted up from the bottom of the Eastern Sea. At the summit of Flower-Fruit Mountain, an elderly man nearing the end of his life guards a naive little monkey and reveals the entire long-buried truth. He entrusts the young monkey with old belongings and a Wind-Calming Pearl, ordering him to travel west along the Great Sage's footsteps and see through the world wrapped in lies with his own eyes. The little fellow refuses to accept the deception and insists on seeking justice for his king. After fighting his way through the Flaming Mountains, he is shocked to learn that the Great Sage's true essence has been sealed for five hundred years, and that even the Bull Demon King and Princess Iron Fan were caught up in the web of that year's trials. The little monkey sets out along the path his predecessor once took.

A grande rebelião no Palácio Celestial foi uma peça encenada pela Corte Celestial, e a viagem ao Paraíso Ocidental para obter as escrituras foi uma conspiração aterradora. O Bastão Dourado com Aro, que outrora abalou os Quatro Mares, não passava de um osso branco que tinha vindo à deriva do fundo do Mar Oriental. No cume da Montanha Huaguo, um velho à beira do fim da vida protege um macaquinho ingénuo e revela toda a verdade há muito enterrada. Entrega-lhe também objetos antigos e a Pérola Apaziguadora do Vento, ordenando-lhe que siga para oeste as pegadas do Grande Sábio e descubra com os próprios olhos a verdade de um mundo envolto em mentiras. O macaquinho recusa-se a aceitar o engano e insiste em exigir justiça pelo seu rei. Depois de atravessar a Montanha das Chamas, fica chocado ao descobrir que a essência original do Grande Sábio está selada há quinhentos anos e que até o Rei Demónio Touro e a Princesa Leque de Ferro ficaram presos nas provações daquela época. O macaquinho parte, assim, pelo caminho que o seu antecessor percorreu.
