At Seventy, Give Her the Wedding She Deserves
Seventy-year-old Li Guofu, in order to marry his ailing first love Zhang Guihua—who thirty years ago sold her dowry to save his family—is determined to break ties with his unfilial children who covet the family property, sell the ancestral home, and face terminal lung cancer. After the old village secretary reveals the truth about the thirty-year debt of gratitude, he gains the full support of the villagers and old friends. Eventually, they set up a wedding hall in the wheat field, and Guofu carries Guihua along the red carpet to complete the wedding, smiling as he falls on his beloved's shoulder. In the illusion, golden wheat waves surge, and the two elderly people shed their illness and vicissitudes, hugging and dancing in the wind, finally completing the most solemn companionship of their lives.
