After Refusing the Banquet, Parting Ways
Shen Zhiyi spent four hours roasting a lamb leg and originally wanted to have a quiet meal, but her husband Gu Mingchuan, without consulting her, temporarily notified his younger brother Gu Minghao's family to come over for a gathering, and also demanded that she continue preparing extra dishes to entertain them. Shen Zhiyi, who had long been casually ordered around by the Gu family, finally stopped tolerating it, directly gave the lamb leg to her parents, and only left behind a plate of smashed chili peppers. Facing the repeated accusations from her husband, mother-in-law, and sister-in-law, she refused to continue acting as the Gu family's free nanny.
