Ascending the Heavenly Tribulation: Season 1
In primeval times, spiritual energy was not yet exhausted. Cultivators could pluck stars with a wave of their hands and regulate their breath for a hundred years. However, after the tilting of the heavens, spiritual veins gradually withered. By the Yin Zhou era, there was no longer a Nascent Soul in the world. The only half-step Nascent Soul, Yin Zhou, ascended the throne and issued a tyrant's decree—all spiritual treasures in the world shall belong entirely to the royal court. Those who conceal them shall be beheaded, and those who mine them privately shall have their clans exterminated. Imposing forced spiritual endowments and heavy corvée labor upon the people, making life impossible. Cultivators from all four directions rose in revolt, forming an alliance to subjugate Yin Zhou. After ten years of wind and rain, fighting ten rounds with ten decisive battles, they ultimately could not defeat the imperial iron cavalry. Sects sealed their mountains entirely, and the resources of rogue cultivators were monopolized and plundered by the royal court, leaving cultivators in the world basically halted at the Core Formation stage. On Luoyu Immortal Island, a gifted youth who dotes on his father embarks on a journey of immortal cultivation together with his matrilocal son-in-law father.
