While cultivating on a meditation stone platform, Lin Chen makes slow progress. His master, Qing Xuan, points out that his mind is restless and that the platform's environment imposes special restrictions. Lin Chen moves to an open area by a spiritual spring. Although he adapts to the cool atmosphere and breaks through his first bottleneck, the energy in the environment subsequently weakens, and he perseveres through adversity, continuing to refine his foundations. His master teaches him a flexible cultivation method. Lin Chen returns to the stone platform to make up for gaps in his fundamentals and, under increasingly intense environmental pressure, overcomes an even more difficult bottleneck.
